The Dark Zone: Transworld 2010

April 21st, 2010 by John Wolfe

A great vid, featuring some of the darkest creations from Transworld’s 2010 Haunt Show. The Dark Zone houses my favorite professional prop builders, ScareFactory, and their latest lineup of animated skeletons, ghouls, and flying creatures. ScareFactory’s stuff runs from the beginning until the 2:20 mark.

looks as if most of their 2010 props are taking their frustration out on the living. they do create some rad Halloween animatronics.

That’s outrageous! I would so love to see that up close!

that was great! I am bound and determined to get to this one of these years.

Hey, they got a hold of my Ipod and played my gym tracks ;-) What an awesome beat, love it! However back to the video, WOW!!! You know John, some people want to travel the world before they die or perhaps swim with the whales and dolphins. For you, I would bet money that one of the things you want to do before you pass over is to go to one of these exhibitions by Transworld. Was I close? ;-)

I love how some of their Angel of Death props had wiggly tongues. Something about that snake like tongue that really creeps me out more so. I LOVED the one AoD prop that looked like it was sitting and then suddenly descended down upon people. Now THAT would be an excellent prop on your roof top right over the walk-way!!! I would feel so sorry for the young kids approaching the door but for the older ones and parents what a wonderful surprise and I bet everyone would duck for cover. I know I sure would!! Then they just HAD to show those damn clowns. Eeeekkkk (running from pc!) Clowns are just so darn creepy, just can’t handle the clowns. At least they didn’t move.

It was amazing to watch all of their props for the first 2:20 minutes. Their creations just floor me and I’m hella surprised that someone from Universal Studios hasn’t contacted them. They have insane talent when it comes to props…kinda like someone else I know ;-) Thank you for sharing this awesome find sweetie!

    frightnight,

That’s a great point. I hadn’t really noticed, but it does look like that’s the theme for 2010.

    autumnforest and Pam,

    Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Goldie,

I always consider myself fortunate that I was a military brat, and I had an opportunity to see a good portion of the world as a kid. Also, I’ve never been big on swimming, so with those two items gone–a huge Halloween Attractions show would have to be number one on my to-do list. :D

Those wiggly tongues would even make Gene Simmons envious! If you liked that descending prop, you would have loved one of their flying props that I saw in another video (it wasn’t featured in this one). The prop was flapping its wings and carrying a man upside down by his legs. The man was flailing about as if he was trying to break free while the creature continued taking him upwards!

When I was about ten, I was friends with a boy who hated clowns. All the neighbor kids knew it, so they used to strategically place clowns under their living room couches and beds, then they’d wait for the boy to find them whenever he visited their homes!

    Thanks for your kind words.
