The Search for Ghostly Voices
April 16th, 2009 by John WolfeI conducted my first EVP (electronic voice phenomenon) session today. Forty five minutes of digital audio resulted in two unidentified anomalies. They were interesting, considering I didn’t hear them at the time of the recording, however, it would be almost impossible to determine whether or not the sounds were paranormal. Unfortunately, there were no distinguishable disembodied voices or words spoken during the session. If future sessions yield anything more substantial or worthwhile, I’ll be sure and upload the results.

Speaking of which, the girls room was hot and heavy with sounds today as well and some kind of whispering. John, I tell ya, the best device ever to pick up those EVP sounds is a baby monitor!!! It’s been months since I’ve heard anything coming from the girls room and today it was just B and I in the office, far other end of the house from their room, and I heard TONS of unknown knocking, clicking and mild whispering. This went on for about 4 hours today off and on. Really odd given that for months it’s been so quiet and now suddenly there’s activity again………hmmmm. Oh, thank you so much for your kind words and support but I fear I jumped the gun with thinking “it” was a shoe-in. Long story but………it’s back to the drawing board again. Can’t wait to hear what you taped. Was this at the cemetary?

Interesting. I never thought of using a baby monitor. There are many videos on You Tube where people are using an AM/FM radio scanner. They put the radio on constant scan mode and sometimes add white noise. The only problem with their results is it’s hard to say what’s paranormal and what’s actually snippets of words coming through the quickly scanned radio stations. That’s why I like using a digital recorder (baby monitor could work too) because aside from my voice, there’s very little contamination inside a controlled environment. If any words are spoken (that aren’t coming from my mouth) then something very interesting is going on! I didn’t go to the cemetery today. This session was done at my grandparents’ house. I think I’ve told you about the strange, ongoing events for many years at their place.
Do baby monitors have an ability to record at all? If so, you should try and catch the sounds.
Sorry to hear you are back to searching again. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I was thinking about that this morning on the way to work, “it’s ashame that the baby monitor doesn’t have a recorder!” If you heard these sounds John, I’m certain you would be flying to the west coast to capture them
Ok, maybe not, just wishful thinking
But if there were a way I could tape them, I could send you the results. Now, I do have a small hand held tape recorder, actually I have a digital hand held as well so that’s a good idea. Plus this next week, T and her dad are in WI, so it’s just B and I allllllllll week long………ahhhhhh!!! Which means ample silent time in their bedroom. LoL, you know, I’m almost scared to tape it, as if whatever this is in their room will KNOW I’m taping it and make a point to say something more. Sure am glad I don’t live there, or sleep there at night. Remember my sharing with you about those “crazy” dreams I have if I nap with the girls…..I have never had dreams like those any other time in my life. Not sure if it’s a spirit hanging around the girls or actually on the ground of the house. The house is brand new, they are the first owners so…….not to sure but you’ve given me some interesting ideas.
Looks like my “search” situation, one particular case everything is being done to secure me, which is interesting. I’ve had more compliments on my mannerism in this last week than I’ve had in the last 3 years combined. Feels rather good and I had no idea I was holding myself so well. Life……you just never know. Thank you for keeping me in mind though John. Your support has meant the world, no, the Universe to me!
Much Gratitude and Many Blessings, Goldie~*~

That would be awesome if you could get them on tape! You may want to place the digital recorder in the room and let it run for an hour or so, then play it back later. I really like using the digital recorder because there are no gears or mechanisms whirring in it like you find on a cassette recorder.
Glad to hear you’ll be having some alone time with B. I know how much relief it will provide for you to not have her sister around.
